The 18V LXT Brushed Lithium-Ion Cordless Grass Shear with Hedge Trimmer Blade, Tool Only is a compact and cordless solution for grass trimming and cutting. Easily change from grass shear to hedge trimmer for minor hedge trimming. The XMU04ZX has dual blade action and a wide 6-5/16" cutting width and delivers faster blade speed (2,500 strokes per minute/SPM) than the previous model. When using a fast-charging 18 V LXT 5 Ah battery (sold separately), users will get up to 200 minutes of run time on a single charge. It has three-stage adjustment so the cutting height can be matched to the application. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.
